Sessions coming late 2022.

The Kniaseff Floorbarre was created by Russian Bolshoi trained dancer Boris Kniaseff, in the 1960’s after being struck down with Polio, and losing the use of his legs.

Through studying yoga for 3 years, he regained the use of his legs and discovered combining classical ballet and yoga on the floor was of huge benefit in increasing flexibility, strength, rotation, and alignment as you are not defying gravity. It has never been recorded, like Sanskrit, it is passed on from generation to generation.

I was privileged to be taught the Kniaseff Floorbarre by my early mentor, prima ballerina assolutta and legend in the global ballet community, the late Lucette Aldous AC.

I have done the floorbarre most days of my life for the past three decades wherever I  happen to be, it has become a soothing and centering ritual and keeps my body in shape and myself grounded. I have taught versions of the Kniaseff Floorbarre to family, friends, dancers, gymnasts and even football teams as a warmup to their sport or their day.
